ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi! I’m Rosemary Stanley. As long as I can remember, I have enjoyed creating. As a child I always enjoyed taking art classes outside school and typically would select art electives whenever I could in school and you’d probably find me doodling all over my papers and folders as well. (Truth be told, I still doodle all over my notes in my workplace.)
Sadly, like most adults, somewhere along the way, I stopped doing much creating. I have two beautiful children. After the birth of each of my boys I experienced and still suffer from postpartum depression. Shortly after giving birth to my 2nd child, it became apparent that I needed something to relieve some of the stress of being a mother and a way to practice self-care to relieve my PPD symptoms.
The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls. – Pablo Picasso
So I started drawing, painting and creating in evenings after the munchkins went to bed to carve out a little extra sacred space for myself. Friends and family members started requesting custom gifts for themselves and eventually I opened my Etsy shop to expand my reach. And as they say: the rest is history.
I had forgotten how much I love to create and it’s been so exciting for me to share it with others and share this passion of mine. It is my hope that you’ve found something that has made your eyes dance.
My favorite medium at the moment is india inks and watercolor. I’m very passionate about empowering women and lifting others up to reach their creative potential. Lately I’ve really been getting into sewing and making handbags and wallets.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or custom art, design or product requests.
